Cops release bodycam footage of Justin Timberlake's Long Island DWI arrest

NEW YORK — Authorities have released bodycam video of Justin Timberlake’s June 2024 DWI arrest on Long Island, which shows the pop superstar stumbling around and lamenting the difficulty of the sobriety tests cops were putting him through.
The NSYNC alum was pulled over in the Hamptons in the early hours of June 18, 2024, shortly after leaving the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. Timberlake was stopped around 12:30 a.m., after police said his 2025 BMW sped through a stop sign, and then failed to stay in its lane.
Footage of his arrest, which is partially redacted, shows the Grammy-winner in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, listening to an officer explain why he’d been pulled over.
“So the reason for your stop is ’cause of, you’re veering off to the left and then you’re not stopping at the stop signs,” the officer says.
“Yeah, sorry about that,” the 45-year-old Timberlake responds.
The “Cry Me a River” crooner goes on to explain that the car he was in was a rental and adding that he is “on tour.”
The officer then asks for clarification, prompting the singer to respond: “It’s hard to explain … umm … I’m Justin Timberlake.”
Next, Timberlake can be seen handing over his license and registration before stepping out of the car to undergo a series of sobriety tests. He tells the officers he’s “a little nervous” and can be seen stumbling as he walks.
“By the way, these are, like, these are like really hard tests,” he says.
The bodycam video also features an unidentified woman, who was in the vehicle with Timberlake at the time.
“You’re arresting Justin Timberlake right now?” she asks officers before questioning whether anything can be done to prevent it.
“Can you guys please just do me a favor ’cause you loved ‘Bye Bye Bye’ or ‘Sexyback?'” she asks them. “Do me one favor.”
It was previously reported Timberlake was recorded lamenting the arrest — telling officers it would ruin his “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour” — though that moment does not appear in the video.
The footage was released after Timberlake earlier this month filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent the bodycam footage from being made public, claiming it would amount to an invasion of privacy.
On Friday, Sag Harbor Police Department announced it had reached an agreement with Timberlake to release a partially redacted version of the video.
Timberlake pleaded guilty on Sept. 13, 2024, to driving while impaired as part of plea deal that required him to do 25 to 40 hours of community service and pay a fine.
