Mark Hamill says seeing himself on a Star Wars cereal box was his "peak achievement".

The 74-year-old actor, who rose to fame playing Luke Skywalker in the original space saga, has admitted he was overjoyed when he saw masks of the beloved characters on a box of cereal.

Speaking to USA Today, he quipped: "To me, this was a peak achievement. Forget about the Oscars. I'm on a box of Kellogg's Corn Pops!"

Mark was a huge fan of the films, and even embraced the commercial side, even if his co-stars weren't quite on board.

He added: "I bought every comic, maybe 16 copies, [and] gave them out to friends. I was thrilled about that.

"I loved the toy aspect of it. Harrison [Ford] was sort of, 'Eh, whatever.' He didn't really care.

"Carrie [Fisher] thought it was kind of fun. But I was the real enthusiast."

Meanwhile, his children are split on the franchise, with 43-year-old son Griffin not impressed.

He explained: "My second son, Griffin, is more analytical and serious, and he says: 'You know, Star Wars movies just aren't for me. They're too commercial for my liking.'"

However, Mark noted his daughter Chelsea, 37, is a fan, while his oldest son Nathan, 46, got to visit the sets when he was young.

He was born during production of 1980's The Empire Strikes Back, and loved playing on the set of 1983's Return of the Jedi.

Mark added: "He was totally into it. He could sit in Yoda's house because he was little. He was perfectly proportioned.

"He sat on the Emperor's throne. He was in the creature shop, and they were letting him play with things.

"When I did 'The Muppet Show,' same thing. I thought, 'What a wonderful experience for him'... I was almost envious of him being able to have all these experiences."

After playing Luke in the original trilogy, Mark reprised the role of the Jedi Knight in sequel trilogy movies The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.

He also appeared in The Mandalorian and spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, having been digitally de-aged to allow him to play Luke.

However, in May 2025, he told The Guardian newspaper: "I had my time. I'm appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters."
