Busy Philipps' latest tests have confirmed there is "no sign" of a brain tumor anymore.

The Dawson's Creek actress revealed in August she had been diagnosed with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a rare slow-growing tumor, and subsequently underwent two operations to have it removed. This week, she underwent an MRI scan which revealed good news - but also detected something else about her health.

Busy told fans in an Instagram video shared on Tuesday (09.08.26): "I got my six-month scan MRI and … no sign of tumor.

"However, I do have a sinus infection … which also makes sense because my eye's been red. My left eye, for the past week and if you are somebody who's followed me for a really long time, you know those sinuses, honey. They have been out to get me since day one.

"I'm going to the sinus doctor tomorrow morning. See what we've got to do."

The 47-year-old actress was delighted with the test results.

She laughed: "I'll take a sinus infection over a brain tumor any day."

The positive update came just a few days after Busy celebrated six months since having her surgery, along with the equally good news that her routine mammogram - which checks the breasts for cancer and other tissue changes - was clear.

In her post, Busy wrote: "Yesterday was six months since my brain surgery removed that tumor from my brain."

She added a series of happy pictures, as well as a snap showing her in a hospital gown, which revealed more good news.

She added: "Well guess what? my mammogram was all clear too! Woo!"

The Girls5Eva star - who has daughters Birdie, 18, and Cricket, 13, with ex-husband Marc Silverstein - previously admitted she feels "grateful" to be alive and hopes her experience will encourage other women to listen to their bodies when they don't feel right.

The actress underwent a full-body MRI scan before being diagnosed with a tumor after her primary care doctor insisted that she didn't need the checkup due to her age and good results from her annual physical.

However, the scan revealed a mass on Philipps' brain, which was revealed to be a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, found in just 1,100 to 1,300 people per year in the US.

She told People magazine: "I didn't know why I wanted to get this scan except for the fact that I just did ... We are frequently told by doctors that there is nothing to worry about [when] you kind of know that there's something to worry about ...

"I do think that that is something that I hope, especially women, can take away from my experience. First of all, there's nothing to be afraid of in having information. It's only empowering.

"Secondly, if you feel anything, don't let some doctor be like: 'You don't need to do it.' That's a waste of time. See things through if you can.

"Ultimately, we, as humans, have the ability to be in touch with what is going on inside of our own bodies if we're able to recognize it and listen to ourselves. Frequently, we dismiss ourselves."
