Jon Lovitz has responded to claims he was one of the most frequent visitors to the Playboy Mansion - joking being described as its "No. 1 customer" was a compliment.

The former Saturday Night Live comedian, 69, was approached outside a restaurant in Los Angeles after Crystal Hefner, 40, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, accused him of regularly attending parties at the mansion and watching the women who arrived.

Crystal made the comments during an appearance on the Lisa Guerrero Unleashed podcast, while Jon addressed the allegations in footage obtained by Page Six.

Jon said: "Any time someone says I'm No. 1, it's a compliment."

Asked about Crystal's description of him as someone who regularly lingered around the property, the actor declined to discuss her specific allegations further.

Jon said: "Hugh Hefner was one of the nicest, most generous people I've ever met and all of his friends know it."

He added: "That's all I have to say about that."

Crystal had described Jon as "one of the biggest pervs" in Hollywood during her interview, claiming he was a regular presence at gatherings organised by her late husband.

She said: "He would be up there all the time."

Referring to his alleged behaviour around women attending the mansion's parties, Crystal said: "His eyes would go front to back [looking at] all the women that walked through the door at the party."

The former Playboy model also described Jon as a "lurker" and alleged his dog had "peed all over the place" during visits to the property.

Crystal said: "I remember him. Every time, every party."

Jon, who became widely known as a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live during the 1980s and early 1990s, has also appeared in films including A League of Their Own, The Wedding Singer, Rat Race and The Benchwarmers.

His television work includes recurring appearances in The Simpsons, in which he voiced Jay Sherman, the film critic who first appeared in the animated series The Critic.

The comedian also appeared in Friends, playing Steve, a restaurant owner who interviews Monica Geller for a job, and had a recurring role in NewsRadio.

Crystal has also discussed other Hollywood figures who visited the property, including Jack Nicholson, 89, whom she previously mentioned on her After the Mansion programme.

She said: "They used to call it Jack Nicholson's drive-thru at one point because he would drive up, grab some food or whatever else he could get there and leave."

Crystal also claimed Hugh was particularly interested in maintaining relationships with celebrities who visited his home.

She said: "Any celebrity was treated extremely well whenever they visited. He would have Bill Maher for chats, hang with Berry Gordy of Motown and then you'd see plenty of other people there. Buzz Aldrin, the original Catwoman."

Crystal married Hugh in 2012 and remained with him until his death.

Crystal appeared in the reality series The Girls Next Door, which documented life at the Playboy Mansion.

In her 2024 memoir, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, she alleged Hugh had controlled aspects of her appearance, including her weight and clothing.

During Tuesday's podcast interview, Crystal also made serious allegations of sexual abuse against her late husband, claiming she experienced non-consensual sexual acts during their relationship.

She further alleged Hugh pressured former Playboy models Kristina Shannon and Karissa Shannon, both 37, into sexual contact with one another.

Crystal has since remarried, exchanging vows with marine biologist James Ward, 43, in an intimate ceremony in the Cook Islands in April 2026.

The couple married on the island of Aitutaki without guests, with Crystal later sharing photographs from the ceremony.

Jon, meanwhile, has continued appearing in film and television projects, including a role in Happy Gilmore 2, the comedy sequel starring Adam Sandler, 60.

His appearance in the film reunited him with the franchise nearly three decades after the original Happy Gilmore, in which he made an uncredited cameo.
