Chrishell Stause and G Flip's long-distance dynamic "drove the two of them apart".

The 45-year-old TV star and G Flip recently announced their separation, and an insider has now revealed the reasons behind their split.

A source told People: "The distance is what really drove the two of them apart."

The former couple - who had a commitment ceremony, but were never legally married - were splitting their time between California and Australia.

But the distance ultimately proved to be too much for them to sustain.

The insider shared: "The long flights, going weeks without seeing each other, and time difference took its toll."

Chrishell and the music star tried to make their relationship work, but they just couldn't resolve their issues.

The source said: "They were trying to make the 'marriage,' that was never legal, work. They both wanted to have kids, but they also both didn't want to uproot their lives for the other."

Despite this, the duo "still very much love each other" and it remains possible that they could rekindle their romance one day.

The insider explained: "Chrishell and G Flip still very much love each other and haven't ruled anything out, as far as reuniting romantically, in the future.

"It was hard to dream about a life together, when they both had that dream on different continents."

Chrishell recently announced their separation in a video posted on social media.

The reality TV star said: "G and I are no longer together, and we have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other. That's not hard for me because I am in love with this person."

Chrishell admitted that she was still trying to process the break-up.

However, the former Selling Sunset star remained confident that she will "heal" from the split.

Chrishell said: "I'm sure, just like always, with time, you get the lessons you're meant to get, and I know that will happen, and I'm gonna heal, and everything's gonna be fine."

She added: "I'm definitely never doing this again, but I just felt like you guys deserved a little bit more than a cold written statement because you have been so supportive and so loving, and we really appreciate that."
